We are the sole owners of the information collected by the Alberta Fire Bans App. We only have access to/collect personal information that you voluntarily give us via email or other direct contact from you. The Alberta Fire Bans App will only collect personal information that you approve via the app. We will not sell or rent this information to anyone.

We will use your information to respond to you, regarding the reason you contacted us. We will not share your personal information with any third party outside of our organization, other than as necessary to fulfill your request.

Unless you ask us not to, we may contact you via email in the future to tell you about new products or services, or changes to this privacy policy.

We take precautions to protect your information. When you submit sensitive information via the Alberta Fire Bans App, your information is protected both online and offline.

Wherever we collect sensitive information that information is encrypted and transmitted to us in a secure way. You can verify this by looking for a closed lock icon at the bottom of your web browser, or looking for "https" at the beginning of the address of the web page.

While we use encryption to protect sensitive information transmitted online, we also protect your information offline. Only employees who need the information to perform a specific job (for example, customer service) are granted access to personally identifiable information. The computers/servers in which we store personally identifiable information are kept in a secure environment.

By downloading or using the Alberta Fire Bans App, these terms will automatically apply to you – you should make sure therefore that you read them carefully before using the app. You are not allowed to copy, or modify the app, any part of the app, or our trademarks in any way. You are not allowed to attempt to extract the source code of the app, and you also may not try to translate the app into other languages, or make derivative versions. The app itself, and all the trade marks, copyright, database rights and other intellectual property rights related to it, still belong to Division [1] Media Corp..

Division [1] Media Corp. reserves the right to make changes to the Alberta Fire Bans App or to charge for its services, at any time and for any reason. You will never be charged for the Alberta Fire Bans App or its services without notice.

Certain functions of the Alberta Fire Bans App, such as the ability to receive fire ban notices will require the app to have an active internet connection. The connection can be Wi-Fi, or provided by your mobile network provider, but we cannot take responsibility for the app not working if you don’t have access to Wi-Fi, and you do not have any of your data allowance left.

If you are using the Alberta Fire Bans App outside of an area with Wi-Fi, your terms of agreement with your mobile network provider will still apply. As a result, you may be charged by your mobile provider for the cost of data for the duration of the connection while accessing the app, or other third party charges. In using the Alberta Fire Bans App, you are accepting responsibility for any such charges.

At some point we may wish to update the Alberta Fire Bans App. The app is currently available on iOS – the requirements for the platform (and for any additional platforms we decide to extend the availability of the app to) may change, and you will need to download the updates if you want to keep using the app. Division [1] Media Corp. does not promise that it will always update the app so that it is relevant to you and/or works with the iOS version that you have installed on your device. However, you promise to always accept updates to the application when offered to you. We may also wish to stop providing the Alberta Fire Bans App, and may terminate use of it at any time without giving notice of termination to you. Unless we tell you otherwise, upon any termination, (a) the rights and licenses granted to you in these terms will end; (b) you must stop using the Alberta Fire Bans App, and (if needed) delete it from your device.
